LEARNING BY DOING

Last week we had a Woodworking Incursion and the children all made castles. This week the children had a chance to paint their castle. They are now using their castle as a pencil holder. Later this term we are going to build our own communities and we will be using the castles as houses.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

This week's Student of the Week is Bailey Joy. Bailey is a great role model for the other children. He always works hard at his table and gets along well with the other children. He is kind and compassionate to his friends and they enjoy his company. Congratulations, Bailey.

Student of the Week

Unfortunately I forgot to post the student of the week for 11th July. Sorry Jai.
During that weeek Jai worked really hard to improve his writing and reading. He began to write more than one sentence independently and was trying to use the Wall Words and Useful Word book to help him with his spelling. Congratulations, Jai.

WHAT A BUSY WEEK

The week has just flown as we have worked really hard. This week we started a new maths topic on Mapping. We learnt how to follow directions and give directions. We placed zoo animals on a chart in their correct grid position to create our own zoo. Then Jordan and Chirani moved the zoo keeper around the zoo(see photos). In writing we began writing narrative stories. We learnt how to write a beginning for our story and today we wrote a problem. Next week we are hoping to finish our first story. On Thursday we had a woodworking incursion and we made a castle. We had to saw, sandpaper, hammer and glue.

STUDENT of the WEEK

Congratulations to Daud who is our Student of the Week. Daud is a fantastic worker who needs no encouragement to complete his work. He loves to write and has written some really good Recounts of his holiday. Daud loves to make Predictions when he reads and is developing his comprehension.

TERM 3 STARTS

It was great to see everyone and Mrs. Wynde was glad we all had a safe and happy holiday. Today we were practising reading our poems fluently. Mrs. Wynde was very impressed with the way Ain and Ava read their poem so she decided to take a video. We hope you enjoy it. Next week we are having a Woodworking Incursion so we hope everyone brings back their notices. Our day is Thursday and we have it from 8:45am-10:15am.
