STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Kayn has worked very hard this term. He has completed some very good narrative stories and has worked on adding more detail. He has improved his reading and is using a variety of strategies to help him understand the story. Kayn loves maths and helps me with adding numbers together and solving problems. Keep up the great work, Kayn.

OUR COMMUNITY

This term our topic has been Our Community. We have looked at what a community needs and why we need them. We have done a walk around the community and looked at all the things in our community. We then made some shops and amenities for a community. We created roads and put in traffic lights and stops signs. Finally we put it all together and made our own community. We then discussed whether we had enough for our community to work. We realised we needed parks, electricity and a petrol station. We were very proud of our community.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Nam has worked very hard this term. His reading has really improved and he is predicting what he thinks is going to happen in the story. Nam has been writing some great narrative stories and has been putting a lot of detail into the problem of the story. Congratulations, Nam!

RYAN'S TRIP

A student in our grade called Ryan has been travelling around Australia. We were doing mapping in our grade so we thought we would follow his travels. He sends us e-mails once a week and we mark on the map of Australia where he has been travelling. We also send him e-mails about what has been happening at school.
