On Thursday the grade 1’s went to the Royal Melbourne Zoo. We went to the Discovery Room to learn the life cycles of animals. I learnt in the discovery room that stick insects drop their eggs into the sand and the ants take the eggs underground and leave them for a few days and then the egg hatches and they look like bull ants. I enjoyed most the reptiles.

On Thursday our class went to the Melbourne zoo. First we saw the seals. After that we saw a stingray. Next we saw Mali. Finally we had some of our lunch. I learnt that frog’s eyes go down into their throat to help them eat. I enjoyed the orangutans. They were playing. I had a fantastic day and it was a fun day.

I learnt about a butterfly cycle. A butterfly came on me because a girl put it on me. It was hot in the butterfly house. I saw the giraffes too. The seals were cute. When we were there I saw my friend Laura. Do you love the zoo? Because I do.
